About Me

So you want to know me:
Hey there stranger. I guess you want to know more about me, I’ll do my best.
I’m from Texas, I don’t really have an accent (but it comes out on a whim). I love dogs. I recently have taken up running, it is a newfound addiction. I enjoy bright colors, low carbon footprints, autumn and turtlenecks. I don’t drink coffee.
I am an avid reader, and I have a penchant for collecting expensive books about design and advertising. I prefer to read non-fiction. I have the strangest array of magazine subscriptions for a 20-something year old woman to have; Fast Company, Wired, The Atlantic, Nylon, Real Simple, and New York Magazine. I don’t read the newspaper unless it’s online, although I’m sure that when I get a real house I’ll really want to have a WSJ subscription.
I collect comic books, there’s some very large boxes taking up more space in my closet than the remainder of my wardrobe.
So you want to hire me:
For some general work background (if that’s what you’re looking for) I double majored in Graphic Design and Interactive Media which essentially means that I’m a swiss army knife when it comes to the final application of my degree in the working world. I’m now a Creative Technologist at the VCU Brandcenter, I will graduate in 2012. I specialize in nothing in particular and can dabble in pretty much anything and everything tech, internet, or design-related. I can write press releases and command teams of people via e-mail, paper prototyping the UI of a site is merely second nature, and Illustrator knows no bounds with me — the creative suite and printed matter are my specialties. I have worked with and helped organize various ROFLCon events, I worked briefly and designed for a startup called YawnLog, I’ve designed a quasi-popular children’s game called Clueless Critters, can count Fortune 50 companies as clients, and have four years of freelancing experience under my belt. I have had several full time internships which means that my ability to create a mock-up quickly may simply astound you, I also have an uncanny knack for working overtime.
